Screwed up 2 rings
I will never set foot into Kay Jewelers EVER...or JARED (same company). My partner and I wanted to get each other rings for Christmas. We walked in and they said...yes, yes, yes we can make your custom rings. I gave them details about what we want and provided pictures. Needless to say, when the rings came back...which was a long time...We did not get what we asked for. Highly disappointed, we asked that they redo...thinking that it was just a mistake and they would fix it. My ring came back incorrect again. NOT HAPPY. My partner's ring broke the night I gave it to her. The stone fell out and it was broken on the end........We found it and I demanded that they fix it. Their fix was to actually melt the prong onto the sapphire. WHAT"!"!?!?!
My ring still to this day IS NOT what I originally ordered. Our experience was horrible. Because we kept having to go back every week for about 2-3 months....they got sick of us. The manager stated..."that IS the ring that you ordered. I don't know what you expect us to do! I don't see anything wrong with it!"
I noticed that the prongs were crooked on my ring about a week after taking it home. I didn't want to go back into KAY again. I don't trust them at all.
I took my ring to a professional jeweler who explained to me that my stone was actually crooked and didn't fit into the setting correctly. The prones were used. They were NOT knew. It's actually called a head. The head WAS NOT NEW. Apparently, the jeweler could tell that the prongs had been messed with many times. They were to the point that they were useless. My stone is also chipped. WHERE MIGHT YOU ASK?! Under the prong. These were our gifts to each other.
They took something that was supposed to be exciting and made it a horrible experience.
I am having a new head put on by a new jeweler this week. I can't even go back into KAY and demand that they fix their errors because they haven't been able to make things right from day one with us. Very dissatisfied.
